Homemade Creamy Hot Chocolate

1 cup semi- sweet chocolate chips

½ cup sugar

½ cup water

⅛ tsp salt

5 cups milk

2 ½ cups half & half

½  tsp vanilla
 

Directions

  1. Melt chocolate chips in saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly.

  2. Stir in sugar, water and salt.

  3. Bring mixture to boil whisking constantly

  4. Add milk, half & half, and vanilla, cook for 2 minutes until heated through

  5. Remove from heat and whisk until frothy.

Optional

Serve with marshmallows or cool whip
