Restaurant Impossible: My Way or the Highway

Chef David’s Recap:

WOW!!! To see dreams & prayers manifest shows how humility, perseverance and diligence pays off in the end. Owning a restaurant had always been the goal when Forks & Flavors was established.  Over the years, the Forks & Flavors brand has become more than just catered food. Reflecting on long nights prepping and planning for catering events while working a 40hr a week corporate job definitely had its trying time, but will forever be cherished.  From small catered events, behind the scenes of reality shows, to VH1, Bravo & now Food Network. Today, I am still in awe with surrealistic feelings about the journey, yet I am standing in the midst of a blessing birthed from a dream, Forks & Flavors the restaurant AS SEEN ON FOOD NETWORK. Having been catapulted into a realm one can only imagine, daily I'm grasping the reins and moving towards sustainable greatness. The journey has definitely not been easy but here I stand.

Meeting Chef Robert Irvine , the production team, camera crew, designers and volunteers, was the most amazing experience. Everyone on the Restaurant:Impossible team exemplified such excitement about our story and willingness to be a support system during the process and even after filming. We were provided tools, knowledge, and words of wisdom that have stuck with us as we continually build upon the blueprint Chef Irvine helped us map out for our  success. I am eternally grateful to have met and had 1 on 1 time with him on and off camera.

Special THANK YOU goes out to all our faithful customers, media outlets, followers and fellow business and restaurant owners who show the Forks & Flavors Family love and intentional support. We truly appreciate the words of motivation and encouragement.

Darnell’s Recap:

This experience has been amazing all the way around. From pre-production to filming to watching the show last night! There were some tedious tasks we had to work through but overall, it was great. We are super appreciative of the systems Chef Robert Irvine put into place for us to continue to thrive! We love the new design of the restaurant and the new dishes as well. The BEST part of this was watching my husband do what he loves to do and share it with the world!

To be 100% honest, nothing feels different, as this all feels normal to me. Seeing myself on TV was not shocking as I have rehearsed my entire life for this! From a clASS clown to an As Seen on Food Network TV Restaurant does feel good! Regardless of how editing made me look, David & I personally are always going to be a unit and 100. Professionally, I know there needs to be some changes made within, but that doesn’t happen overnight. Leaving the military & nursing and going into the restaurant industry was a huge Professional Culture Shock for me.

I am looking forward to our growth not only here in Kennesaw but our expansion to Chattanooga, TN & Houston, TX!
